Stem Cells
In the digestive system the stem cells play the role of replenishing the secretory cells of the gastric glands and also the surface mucous cells that protect the stomach surface.
Enteroendocrine cells
Enteroendocrine cells specialized to secrete a particular hormone that influences gastrointestinal secretion or motility in the digestive system.
Goblet cells
Goblet cells are located in the colon, small intestine, and absorptive cells. Goblet cells have the job of secreting mucus from all of this places.
Ito cells
Ito cells are located at intervals within the "Space of Disse", these cells have the job of storing fat and vitamin A.
Kupffer cells
Kupffer cells found in the sinusoids of the liver, kupffer cells clean bacteria out of the portal blood stream, removing worn-out red blood cells, and recycling hemoglobin.
